Fiber laser metal cutting
A fiber laser generates a beam that is carried through an optical fibre to the cutting head and focused into a spot a few tenths of a millimetre across. On that small area the material melts and vaporises instantly, while an assist gas jet blows the melt out of the kerf. The result is a thin cut line, a minimal heat affected zone and an edge that in most cases needs no further work.
We work from your drawing. We accept DXF, DWG, PDF and STEP files, and where needed we produce the drawing from a sample or a sketch. Parts are then nested on the sheet so that material use is maximised and the price per piece comes down.
Laser cutting pays off for a single piece as much as for a production run. In series work there is no tooling cost, because the geometry only changes in the program — which means fast prototyping and simple revisions later on.
